In 2000: 189 nations, 147 heads of state and governments signed and adopted the Millennium Declaration, which outlined the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). These are eight goals to be achieved by 2015, responding to the world's main development challenges. Most significantly targeting, and ending poverty.
However, many of the MDG's are in danger of going unmet by 2015.
This is a call to action for the global business community.
By refocusing and redoubling efforts, and financial commitment, to social initiatives, businesses can support the important Millennium Development Goals. This highlights the benefit of collaboration and partnership between authorities, NGOs and businesses at international, national and local levels; realizing ideas that are good for the community and business.
Business can only be sustainable if the communities in which it operates are sustainable.
We are investigating business' corporate social efforts in the developing world. And on our journey we will be documenting the music, art and culture of the countries and communities affected.
Changes In Rhythm will be a growing document of the changing world, demonstrating to Businesses, Leaders, and future leaders of the world, how they can make a real and significant difference in this life time.
